Who's the cat who despite selling millions of records and winning an Oscar had a record label who went into financial difficulty and stopped paying him? That's right, shafted (sorry, we couldn't resist). Shaft composer and soul legend Isaac Hayes, being unable to pay back his debts was sued by the banks.
Owing $6 million, he lost his house, property and all future royalties to his classic songs. It wasn't until he was cast as the voice of Chef in South Park that he became financially solvent again. Think of that, each time you hear Chocolate Salty Balls.
