President Obama sings Al Green!

As if he wasn't cool enough already, President Barack Obama sang a few bars of Al Green's Let's Stay Together at a New York fundraising event…

Barack Obama has stunned the crowd at a fundraiser by breaking into song. The President, who has adopted Let's Stay Together by the Reverend Al Green as his 2012 re-election theme, treated the Democrat faithful to a few bars.

He then pointed to the side of the stage and, presumably referring to his aides, exclaimed, "Those guys didn't think I would do it!"

In what can only be described as a coincidence, at the exact time this was happening in New York, MSN Music was filming a live session with Seal, who chose to sing the same song!

Check them both out below and tell us how you think Obama did compared to Seal.

That was just a 30-second teaser of our exclusive live session with Seal. Filmed at the Gibson Rooms in central London, we captured the great man in fine voice as he powered his way through a selection of soul classics.

The whole thing will be available to view next week, so make sure you come back soon!

Steps up to a challenge, puts a smile on everyone's faces and leaves the crowd thirsty for more -- the guy's a dude...plain and simple. More personality in his left thumb nail than any of the republican candidates have in their whole bodies. Go Barack!

No such thing really as a free market Shane. Never has been one since humans began organising themselves into large communities. Controls are absolutely vital in complex societies like ours. In fact they've always been vital to save us from greedy b'stards who want to collar all or a large part of the wealth and power. It's why Democratic Govenment for all it absurdities at times was developed. To bring some order and give people with a stake in Society a voice. The debate really has all along been about - who controls the money and who gets to decide who controls the money?

What the Right you see often dismissively call  "red-tape" in their electioneering is just their way of saying that they - who control the capital, want to be free to do what the hell they like with it without too much inteference from beaurocracy - a swear word on Capital Hill. Any attempts made to regulate their activities they will only go along so far with, as long as it doesnt drastically interfere with this basic principle of theirs - which is the free movement of capital. The Left of course dont get it themselves when they ignore the fact that capital cannot just be created out of nothing. It has to be worked for and there is no use in pretending otherwise.  We can't all be millionaires and live a a life of idle leisure, expecting someone else to pick up the tab.

The so called "Free Market "you see is a fiction. Great if you are the one controlling the system and getting to decide where the money goes. But not so great if you are without much capital (and therefore influence) and are subject to the whims of their market forces. All markets you see are really just an exercise as to how ingenious one can be in rigging them in one's favour. That is the challenge that all politicians face. The answers they come up with largely determine their politics I guess, and those who vote for them when they can be bothered to pay attention.

But as I said:

Most of the electorate are pig ignorant and far too lazy to engage with the issues at stake most of the time. A great many of the electorate are cynical about politics these days because they don't really understand what's going on. (A situation I believe many onthe Right in politics are happy to see continue - less chance of any real change in te status-quo that way). Some are cynical because they do know what's going on. (Many of these, if they are not involved in the process of politics themselves as serving politicians, tend to write or broadcast about it - The Media.)

Me?- I'm just cynical about the whole process.

Not necessarily a healthy or desirable position to be in, I can tell you.

Obama threatened to veto the NDAA bill if it didn't include a provision that would allow America to detain anyone from anywhere without a trial for as long as they please. (No, you read that correctly, the veto would only take place if the bill didn't contain that provision!)

But hey, he can sing, so obviously we should forget his disastrous policies, right? Eye-rolling

Americans should think straight,Obama didnt start your recession or the crisis.Give him a chance, rather than look for a next change. And to this clip, what wrong doing is for a president to sing and put a smile on few peoples faces.Sense of humor.Stay strong and think positive is the only way

I feel sorry for Obama, it's like people just expected him to come into office and fix all of America's problems. Given the circumstances - I mean, he was elected right as the recession was becoming publicized, he has done a pretty good job. I certainly think he's done better than certain other presidents who team up with UK prime ministers to start pointless wars in Iraq (mentioning no names...)

And if the man wants to sing, let him! It didn't send the world crashing down. In any case, this was a fundraiser, not a politcal election event, so I don't see how this could be deemed inappropriate.

News flash

Obama was awarded the Noble Piece prize after being in the job just two weeks, was this a fix? but now  he also sings, and Clinton on his guitar, what a dual , just ripe for the election campaign,  and throw a few rapper's in  for good measure, omg  what a shower.

It's a clever sell, to the dumb masses.

On the subject of music why can't we comment on that great group you know the one - Iran and the Barbie dolls?

They Hate us don't they?

If they ever manage to kill a lot of us we will still kill more of them.

Like Nosty predicted - the west will suffer but the East more so.

Amazing Coolest politician ever!?  Results of office don't say that.

When Western women are over in the East they have conform to the dress code & no Christmas trees etc But that's only fair cos the Eastern women who have no "women's rights" over there have to blend in over here don't they ? Oh hang on Perhaps not.

It is about time people woke up Obama is not a true Christian but a Muslim because he supports all Muslims in the USA, not the Christians

Publicity stunt!!!

Barak: "Hmm, what could I do to ensure I'm on all news networks this week?"

Obama Team "Sing a song, who'd see that coming?"

mediumal57 - I agree with most of what you say, except none of this has got anything to do with who anyone voted for. Enslavement through debt and corporate rule has been the way of the world since well before the days of elections and political parties. And I think its worth trying an actual free market for once, before we go looking for more rigorous control systems.

Shane-

Cranes Law Number One: He who controls the cash controls everything.

I agree that it's the Finaciers and those that shift capital around twho need bringing to heel. Unfortunately the System has given them far too much power. Politicians right from the President down to the local Sherrif and Dog Catcher generally tend to do their bidding I'm afraid.

That's our fault though. We've voted for far too many Conservative - Right of Centre Governments on both sides of the Pond for far too many years IMO. But that again is the system.

Not advocating Communism by the way. Just a truly more enlightened Capitalism where the levers of power are rigorously controlled and prevented from falling into the hands of those with far too much money and time to influence things. Easier said than done though. Tyranny you see is the norm. True democracy is rather rare and difficult to successfully accomplish. Mainly because the electorate are ill prepared  to make it work properly. Again generally by being far too lazy and ignorant most of the time.

President Obama is a stand up guy!
No one should expect him to turn things around in such a short period of time considering it probably took most of his life time for the economy to get in such a state .... changing from one political party to the next!  You have Congress pulling strings, vetoing, and whatever else they get up to in the House of Commons.

On another note, at least Barack Obama is not what you may call stereo- typical! He could have gone down the singing route .... obviously .... listen to that sweet voice, even if a  few bars... but decided to become a symbol of hope, determination and dedication, for many whom might have thought it was impossible to become President of America!

Long live Barack Obama and his family!

Thank you Pay my way.. Exactly, labelling people racist is such an evil, conniving, cynical tactic. Typical of these Fabian types. Its exactly what they said they would do years ago. The Frankfurt School talked about this and so did Harold Wilson, he was a Soviet traitor like most of the British establishment. I don't like George W Bush any more than Obama, because he is a tool for the same organisation.

Obama is one of the best presidents the USA has had in some time. I think he connects with his people and his service personnel very, very, well.

He will be re- elected.
