Katy Perry signs deal with The Sims 3

The I Kissed A Girl musician has signed up to feature in the video game The Sims 3 Showtime.

Some musicians just love video games.

They may act all cool when they're performing on stage, but the likes of 50 Cent, Britney Spears and the majority of musicians signed to the Def Jam record label (anyone remember the fighting game Def Jam Vendetta with Snoop Dogg?) have all geeked-it-up by starring in their own video games.

And now it's Katy Perry's turn.

Yes, whilst she's not actually getting her own game like other musicians have done in the past, Katy has signed a deal to feature in the game The Sims 3 Showtime.

Katy will be a playable character in the game and players will also be able to unlock lots of Katy Perry-themed clothes, hairstyles and accessories.

The singer, who recently split from her fiancé Russell Brand, is excited to be a part of the game - she said in an interview:

"I love how you're able to play out different stories through Sims characters. I always like to think of myself as a cartoon -and now I'm a Sim."

This isn't the first time Katy has revealed her love for The Sims series - the singer even recorded a version of her smash hit single Hot N Cold in Simmish - the language that the Sims use in the computer game!

If that's not dedication to the series, we don't know what is!
