According to Benjamin Franklin, there are only two things certain in life: death and taxes. What's also certain is that if, like country legend Willie Nelson, you fail to pay $16.7 million in owed taxes then the Internal Revenue Service is going to come looking for you.

Even a star as big as Willie, responsible for penning evergreen standards such as Always On My Mind and Crazy, didn't have that much tucked away in the bank and he attempted to raise funds by releasing an album entitled IRS Tapes: Who'll Buy My Memories.

Such was the good feeling towards Nelson that when his assets were auctioned by the IRS, many were bought anonymously by friends and given back to him.
