Dappy partners up with Brian May
Yes, you read that right, Queen legend Brian May plays guitar on the new single from Dappy…
In a move that's bound to upset Queen fans everywhere, legendary guitarist Brian May has lent his services to the new single by N-Dubz rapper Dappy. Called Rockstar, the track follows his previous single No Regrets which went to number one in September last year.
In fact, we're pretty sure that's how the collaboration came about because Brian told MSN a few months ago that it was his favourite song of the moment.

Its great to see Brian May back. No doubt half of Dappy's fan base would not of heard of him but its a chance for them to educate themselves with a true British legend :-)

Those of you who think that Dappy ent a rapper or this ent music go and listen to some classical **** man, times are changing so is music, you dont like it? dont listen, simple as, I think to be able to make it this far as a musician is incredible, don't think Brian May is moving down a level think of Dappy moving up one. He's got this far in his career, he's obviously doing something right and I think he's someone to appreciate, he came from nothing and is now a star. I'll admit it's a bit odd them two collaborating but at the end of the day, I think its a good song and I'm sure other people would too, some people need to stop being so closed minded and appreciate talent cos he can rap maybe not like Eminem and 50 Cent but he can rap and he can produce good music, he's had 3 albums with N-dubz and I'm sure there's more to come from him!

Don't have a problem with the combining of two different genres, I just thought that Brian May who generally seems like a pretty nice guy would have more integrity than to collaborate with a woman beater. Plus I don't really think Dappy is that good anyway, would prefer if it was Lupe Fiasco or Talib Kweli or someone like that. Also I find the lyrics of the songs themselves distateful and think it's a bit arrogant of Dappy to compare himself with the members of the 27 club.

I think the problem is that people judge Dappy on his style which we associate with the local lads that hang around strret corners. However, if strip it back to his talent and like it or not, the boy has a fantastic voice and can certainly be creative with lyrics, Dappy is a hard working individual and has a talent which he is utilising well and regardless of some peoples opinion, he is a success. I think we should show more respect for hard working young people as he surely doesn't deserve the bad threads here, save them for the youths that fill our YOI's and Juvenille prisons. I also believe that many a heads were rocking to his no. 1 hit 'no regrets'.... it was very catchy !!

I skipped to 3.12 and oh no poor Brian what have you done that's no solo shame on you.
what do i think of the song poor very poor but it will be number one in the charts coz every thing else in the charts it really poor.

tbf i think personally the song is quite good not some of dappy best stuff but good still and the rock rap mix in this is excellent and brians solo is awesome at the end of the day brian noticing talent and he think he did amazing in this

I like it. Don't care who the rock star is it sounded good. All music and mix or styles has its place in the world of music and art. So you can say what you like with regards to it being boring or a mistake on Brian's behalf but he obviously felt it was worth doing and feels the same as myself with regards to music. For those of you that do not know much about rap or music overall maybe you should learn to open your ears and minds to different music and sounds out there rather then trash talk. ;))

This wording ^ is ridiculous. 'does it actually sound good?' -- seriously. what sort of question is that. Just because Brian May isn't playing his typical rock doesn't mean his solo's going to be bad. Don't judge so quickly.
And as someone who Loves queen enough to know ever lyric to ever song at the age of 16, I have to say this song came across rather weirdly, but not bad. I love Dappy's voice, I just don't like how everything else is louder than such a great voice.

Just shows all you blinkered stuck in the past couch potatoes dont know your music and probably never get out beyond the safety of your tv sets. The Red Hot Chilli Pepers, Run DMC and a whole host of other groups have had the balls to mix rock and rap...and blow mediocre melancholic boring groups like Coldplay completely off the stage. At least Brian isnt stuck in the past and is trying to do something original...which is more than you couch critics could ever do. Can t say its my favourite song but anyone who says rappers dont have talent should have a look at their own talentless scribblings and tiny lives.

I thought it was a decent tune. Quite enjoyed it. I do think people make their minds up before listening without being prejudiced. Might be a hint of music snobbery, but everyone is entitled to their opinion so if thats theirs, thats the way they feel. Its certainly not the worst song in the world is it! N-dubz werent exactly my kind of thing, but saying that their members dont have any skill in what they do is really misguided. They do well. Have plenty of fans. And more to the point if it required little or no talent - everyone would be doing it.
