British females have taken the world by storm in the last few years but for all Leona Lewis' technical ability, Lily Allen's feistiness, and Amy Winehouse's retro soul, we've yet to come up with a 24-carat diva able to compete with the likes of Beyoncé or Christina Aguilera. That was a long sentence. Its short counterpoint is "until now". Essex-born Jessie J really does have the lot - not just a belter of a voice (she'd win X Factor at a canter) but serious songwriting pedigree too (she's written hits for Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys). Chuck in the fact that Justin Timberlake recently named her the best singer in the world and you've got someone virtually guaranteed to hit the big-time in 2011.

i will probably spend my money on some old cds i never bought from then...like the cast album.. or maybe some singer songwriter i never heard of from the 70s or 80s or something...last year it was jackson browne..great! no doubt "for a dancer" will kick the life out of any modern remixes
Ok people, the REAL one to watch is a new artist ...
Singer/Songwriter RACHEL SILVA she will come from nowhere and take the world by storm, GREAT POP, GREAT VOCALS. We really need some new talent, no more X Factor rubbish, all she needs is Radio airplay. Wouldn't it be great if talent finally gets a chance.... go check her out !!
I like Jessie J... Her songs are nice but I don't really like her video... She's more normal in her youtube vids.
And I agree with most of the comments that Katy B should be on here. But also Ellie Goulding! Her album 'Lights' & 'Bright Lights' is great and I love every song on it. She definitely has a lot more to give...
What a fabulous bunch of top musical talent - can't wait to hear their warbling coming out of my radio sometime soon....
Jessie J a talent, anybody ? Just seen the link to her video - it is pure trash.
To be honest it is actually very hard for anyone to make good original music - it can't just be manufactured in a factory as it's an art form. Just like you can't make a classic painting in a factory, even with hand-picked artists it will never be a Renoir....
where the hell is take that, they have just got back together and are going to be a massive hit in 2011, i am very disappointed in Ben chalk who made this presentation

Yes you forgot Matt Cardle, One erection need to learn how to sing in harmony first and Cher Lloyd is useless.
All the would be hopefuls I have never heard of and probably won't I would call them crap in waiting. Having said that they probably not any worse than some of the rubbish that is in the charts at present. There always seems to be plenty of room for more crap but none for decent talent
i'm surprised katy B or devlin didn't make this list loick essien and labrinth will be big hitters in 2011 :D
