Ben Drew aka Plan B wants to launch his own charity for troubled youngsters
Plan B wants to launch his own charity so he can help troubled youngsters.
The singer and rapper - whose real name is Ben Drew - revealed he can identify with kids with problems because he overcame certain challenges himself when he was younger, reports The Sun.
He said: "I want to start an umbrella charity giving money to smaller charities in England. I'm talking about stuff within the community, protecting kids - the kind of kids that were out rioting and feel like they have no prospects."
The 28-year-old British star - who is currently working on his third album - said at one point in his life he "felt how they felt".
He continued: "I got kicked out of school and I went to a pupil referral centre, but it was the best thing that happened to me.
"If there were more places like that, it wouldn't matter if they had a bad family life. They'd still have people who care and tell them they're not a piece of s**t and that they can amount to something."
