I never write a comment, but I have to say this - What a brilliant article, I totally agree, Spice Girls were, and always will be the best.  They revolutionised Pop music, and alot of artists of today would not have come about if it weren't for Spice Girls.  They wrote their own songs, had their own style and personality and chose which songs to release despite their record companies choices.   They created their own success, and are the least manufactured group.  Yes they may have been put together, but they left their original managers and found success themselves, they had brains.. what other band would have the balls to do what they did?  Trust me I've read all their autobiographies/biog​raphies, I know what they went through.  They were so fun and influential and their music was brilliant.  I hate all the other girl bands in this category, but Spice Girls are the best and in a league of their own.  There is no act around now like them, I miss those days.  Well done Tina Hart for a great article.  I still miss them and their craziness and the phenomenal hype around them.  Also they sang and performed live in their record breaking world tours every night.  Its a shame it ended so quick..  Its amazing after all these years they are still mentioned in popular culture.

Thant's ridiculous this Little Mix band be on the list of the best girls band of the last 20 years.

I don't think no one will ever beat the SPICE GIRLS they had the Girl Power and they rule the world, let's see how far Little Mix will go.

 

To all of this people moaning about the Spice Girls, ALL HYPOCRITES i bet all of them got or had a cd or two from the Spice Girls and if you had it's because you like it. Get Over It and just admit you liked them one day. 

They are all talented on their on way that's why the band worked so well.

I see the prostitutes and sex workers are back. They must be working overtime tonight. Perhaps the old dogs haven't made enough yet.

If Little Mix are one of the top twenty girl bands of the last twenty years - after existing for a very short time and having only released one single - it speaks volumes on just how poor girl bands have been in that time. On the other hand it really doesn't surprise me when you think that most of the girl bands of the last twenty years have been manufactured dross such as the Spice Girls, the Saturdays or Girls Aloud.

I like all of those girl bands on the list and have bought at least one album from all of them apart from the Saturdays - they just don't do owt for me

 

Eternal were the first CD album I ever bought when I got my first CD Walkman - in fact I think I might go and re-buy their albums as I loved their music

 

Same with TLC

Best Girl Band Little Mix where I havent heard nothing from them since they won fix-factor I don't own there single or if any album? they are one hit and bye...whoever buys this crap wants there heads examined..and I don't see any of my friend list who have even spoken of them lets see in 10 years time where they rank ok bye

The only girls that spring to mind who COULD play instruments and wrote and helped in the production of their records were the Corrs and it was lovely to see a young woman win a recent talent show at Wembley and a £100,000 who could sing, wrote her own songs and played the guitar, such rare talent these days.

Little Mix girls look like they had their waxworks gone wrong, straight out of a Boris Karloff movie.

Another piece of non-news we are graciously allowed to comment on. Little Mix vs Sugababes vs Supremes vs ........... is always going to be a matter of personal taste.  Why can we not comment on the proposed Scottish referendum? or  the poor quality of (very) cheap meals in hospitals?  or any piece of REAL news?  Because these are things that matter and our opinions obviously don't.
